The Venus Project: The feasibility and Biblical aspects

The Venus Project:
the feasibility and Biblical aspects.

The following are only comments on the Biblical and feasibility aspects of The Venus Project founded by Mr. Jacque Fresco.

The Venus Project proposal

Under the current Monetary system

a)       Resource Based Economy where all food and resources are equally shared and distributed throughout the world.  When a person gets to eat clean and a variety of fresh foods, it will greatly reduce illness and hence reduce the need for medical treatment at the same time.

Total removal of the monetary system including and not limited to all forms of servitude, trade and barter systems.

a)      Food and resources are only shared and distributed where governments & companies deemed it profitable; meanwhile, many parts of the world are left with hunger and disease.

Because of the monetary system, slavery, illegal trade and prostitution of not only body but also of the mind, time and betrayal of your own conscience and family go rampant.

b)      Introduce abundance and variety of goods and natural resources such as water and electricity in order to eliminate scarcity, theft and various crimes as much as possible to a certain degree;

b)      Scarcity are purposed caused in order to push prices of commodities up for profit of governments and corporations; as a result of scarcity, a new class of people called the “poor & needy” have been developed and various crimes have been committed due to the need to keep finding money to pay for food and shelter and other human needs.

c)       Highest level of “clean and safe” production and service including progressive automation of menial jobs and constantly developing ways to improve maintenance from household to public industry in order to maximize utility & durability while minimizing planned obsolesces.

For example, Supermarkets can be replaced by large vending machines halls to dispense all types of normal supermarket goods, hence eliminating the need for cashiers, packers and other types of personnel.  Vending machines can be replenished periodically (once or twice a day depending on how fast the goods are taken up) directly by suppliers of each specific goods.

c)       High level of production and preserving the environment at the same time have seldom been accepted by corporations that are only interested in profit because the materials and overhaul needed to change current equipments and production methods to environmentally friendly materials and equipments will cost companies a huge price; which often companies and governments will turn a blind eye.
No amount of protests or education is able to turn a government’s decision to be fully committed to protect the environment so as long as you are in a monetary based system.

d)      All people are free to pursue and excel in their areas of interest and are not bound by obligation to find money or hindered by lack of time and money.

d)      Often a person’s personal interest or hobbies are hindered or cut off because of lack of money and time due to “finding money long hours of work” commitments. Hence making a person somewhat miserable.

How much time and personnel are wasted by one large corporation on accounting staff and auditors with just one main purpose; that is to tell the Chairman how much profit he is earning?

e)       Education shall include the widest range of general knowledge as well as customized to suite each child’s learning curve.

e)       Education shall gradually move away from current limited subjects and grading system that left many people behind, demoralized and with limited conceptual understanding.

f)        Relaxing the context of patents to a degree of only recording of details of invention and inventor; allowing inventions free to be readily available for improvement or improvisation.

f)        Improvement, innovation, research and development are often deterred by lack of funding and patents are in place by inventors to block other people to cash in on their ideas or even to improve on it.

g)       Library system not only for educational books, materials and school equipments but also for large & bulky equipments as well, such as copier machines, cars, musical instruments and etc to be made in the highest quality, quantity and variety available for all people to borrow for use and return when finish using, so that it will not sit in your house collecting dust or need a bigger house to store all unnecessary clutter.  If you are bored with one model of equipment, the library system provides a wide variety of models to try and use.
However, if you wish to obtain a new equipment from the manufacturer to keep it at home, you are free do so as well.

g)       People constantly buying equipment that may be phased out within a year or two and continuously need more money to buy newer models and need more space to store all the equipments which will be discarded anyway when it is old.

h)       Harnessing nature’s clean power sources like wind, solar, geo-thermal, wave and etc, to generate clean energy to protect the environment and people’s health.

h)       Current heavy dependence on fossil fuel, coal and nuclear energy have proved to be environmentally damaging and detrimental to the health of mankind and animals.

i)         Governments or people working in the public sector shall be fashioned along the lines of a “charitable organization” where all are volunteers without any special benefits or hidden agendas.

i)         Many countries have governments that are in some form of dictatorship, serving their own interests and profits at the cost of its citizen’s lives.

j)         The incentive to go on working would be based on charitable nature and social responsibility.

Many people may just choose not to continue their present job.  But think of it this way - a fish monger tells a vegetable farmer that he still needs to eat vegetables and the farmer also would like to be able to get some fish.  Since this is a non barter system, both suppliers of fish and vegetables only need continue on as they were – laying out their goods on the table so that the chain of supply will not break.
In any case, it is best if those who wish to resign from their current position should inform their local government office to apply for a volunteer to take their place; or in the case of companies, to discuss with their team of workers to get replacements or change the working conditions.
For example, since there is no longer the issue of SALARIES, AGE, CONTRACTS, ETC; a factory that formerly had 1000 employees can apply for 4000 volunteers to do rotating shifts of 2 to 3 hours work per person instead of 9 hours work per person.    Reduction in working hours may encourage workers to stay on to help as volunteers.

Parents teach their children ABC not because they are paid to do it but they are doing what comes naturally, that is to help their children to learn.

Parents bring home food for their family not because they are hoping to get paid to do so but because it is necessary for the survival and living condition of the family.

People should start to look at vocations as a means of contribution to the Human Family instead of just about earning money.

j)         Money is not the actual drive that forces people to work but the necessity to find food.  Why do people enslave and prostitute themselves to earn money?

In Malaysia, many times we say, “I need to go out to find food” instead of “I need to go out to work”. The phrase “Cari makan” in Malay means “find food” is commonly associated with the need to work.  So, our basic human need is to work in order to find food, but somehow, money got into the picture and became the “middle man / barrier / hurdle” that all of mankind needs to overcome in order to get to the food and water.   Since money is neither the means nor an end.  (“Means” being work and “an end” being food); then money can be deemed totally unnecessary and can be taken out of the equation in its entirety.

In the monetary system, poor people who are sick are often still forced to go out to work with no chance and no opportunity to take time off for convalesce.

A wealthy person who works 18 hours a day could be just simply a workaholic who is determined to fight the money barrier and win.
k)       Anyone who does NOT wish to work for whatever reason shall not be forced to do volunteer work and you will NOT be called “names”.

k)       Anyone who does not want to work is called “lazy” in the monetary system.   Wealthy people who do not work are called “spoilt brats”.

The Venus Project is just common sense and sounds like a perfectly good idea, but why has it not taken off after so many years since its inception?

Is it because the time is not yet ripe?

Christians alone will shrug off the idea because they were indoctrinated by the “doctrines of men” that they have to wait for Jesus to return to do all the work for them; while some other types of Christians think that God will let them leave the earth and go into heaven and let all the earth, unbelievers and its animals burn to a crisp.

Another reason would be probably be that they were too ingrained into the monetary system that they cannot see any way out.

Or is it plainly because both the Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movement previously paid no respect to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth?

If you do not know where you came from, it will be difficult for you to get out of the clutches of this world’s materialistic and sometimes Satanic culture.

John 4:42
“And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”

Ephesians 5:23
“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”

One of the purposes of God choosing Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is to save the world and mankind (the body of Christ); all the prophets that were sent by God in the Bible and the purpose of Jesus of Nazareth coming to be born into this world is to save not only your soul/spirit but also to save this world (earth) and all that is in it created by God.

Technology facilitates our civilization and attempts to increase our comfort zone.  But technology alone cannot replace the guidance and blessings of the LORD Most High who created the human race.
The human race is able to invent and have the technological know-how to replace the current fossil fuel and monetary based systems.  But do you know where does your knowledge come from?  Without a clear understanding of the knowledge of the God of Israel, our own human knowledge will be bridled and can be destructive again in a repetitive cycle even without the monetary system.

The “Resource Based Economy” of abundance and re-education will solve all the problems of the poor & needy people, and possibly end all money related crimes be it corporate or individual; but it alone cannot solve wickedness of man, for if you had not noticed already, it is the “comfortable people who lacked nothing” that are the most destructive in deeds.  Do I detest comfort and promote hardship? Far from it, mankind was originally created to enjoy the highest levels of comfort and abundance.  Hardship came in when we chose to hide from God’s guidance and instructions when we are yet little children.  Repent of your old ways and get to know the LORD and seek after the ways of the LORD and the Kingdom of God and all shall be added unto you.

The history of materialism and monetary system, gave rise to the system of hierarchy and illusionary superiority instead giving importance to the family unit.

To many people, Money today has become some sort of the pulse or blood veins of a society that keeps running, moving and exchanging hands in a thriving economy and yet this paper money is in itself are worthless pieces of printed-paper that has only been created just a few hundred years ago.

Before the creation of today’s type of empty paper money, China’s earliest “paper note” a few thousand years ago were more towards the likes of promissory notes or delivery orders, where a piece of printed note declares to the bearer the promised delivery of certain goods when presented.  Other than that, weight in commodities of precious metal in nugget & coin forms, animals and grains were the common mode of trade and barter throughout the world among strangers.

The first human family, God planted fruit trees in abundance and variety for the whole family to enjoy.  After the fall or separation, mankind began to do various things and then come together to share (like today’s “potluck” party); tending sheep and planting various types of grain and fruits for food.  As Adam and Eve’s family grew bigger and all children ventured away to set up their own bases, mankind also grew in skills and activities.  Learnt to build stone houses, found abilities to mould/fashion iron and brass and etc.

In ancient Egypt for example, within a single country or community, all types of goods produced were shared and distributed among all citizens.  The first few Egyptian Pharaohs were not like the Kings and Presidents/Prime Ministers we see today.  The early rulers are merely “overseers” ensuring that every thing is in working properly, settling disputes; ensure equal distribution of goods and services.  Where water and fruits of the earth are freely given by God and hence must be freely given to the people.  Mankind merely learned of ways to make the land fertile and hence ensuring maximum yield of plantations.

In the beginning all the peoples were of one language and had a common purpose of survival but as more and more people moved away from the knowledge of the God who created them except for the line of Seth to Noah to Abraham, God kept special watch over them to ensure their survival in a world that was growing more and more violent and selfish.

Even Noah’s descendant, King Nimrod was a great ruler who ran his kingdom in a similar fashion to the resource based economy; but King Nimrod became very proud and arrogant because of all the riches that he had gathered and the prosperity of his people and country that he ruled.  His people?
A person be it a king or ruler is not the owner of another person and you cannot force other people to pledge allegiance to you.

A husband and wife may pledge faithfulness to one another.  Even in a family unit, a husband and a wife based on mutual trust and agreement to stay together to help each other and to raise children and even so, when their children grows up, children normally leave home to go about their own business.

Abundance of goods coupled with self-elevation, pride and ego are able to make a person think that he is god or a king.
Did you notice that Jesus Christ, the God and King of Israel Creator of the heavens and the earth have NEVER practiced or showed any form or example through HIS lifetime on earth in the similar fashion of the kings of the earth; and yet Roman Catholic Popes and Protestant Priests, Pastors, Deacons and etc, behave and have always displayed themselves through their actions and fashion as if they are somewhat superior or a king.
What is the difference between the Kingship of Jesus Christ and all other kings on earth?   It is not actions of superiority, brains, birthright or ability to accumulate great amounts of wealth and merchandise.
(Philippians 2:6-8) The true kingship of Jesus Christ is His unconditional love, patience, humility, obedience and obligation to His children and creations.

Philippians

2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

King Nebuchadnezzar was the first king to mint images of his face or the face of a lion on gold coins as commemorative treasures.  Subsequently all other kingdoms followed his narcissism right up to today.  Roman empire had the face of Caesar on the coins, as Jesus put it, render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s.  (Mark 12:17)
The currencies of many countries have pictures of dead Presidents on it.  Why don’t we just render unto the dead the things that are dead and give unto God our life and energy?  (No offence to those whose face on currencies that are still alive today.)

30 years ago, a child was able open a bank account with any amount (for example, with $10 worth of coins that the child had saved) and can still earn interest on it.  Today, the child would be charged for coin counting services and small accounts are charged with monthly service charges and the banks have the right to close your account after they have finished deducting whatever little amount of money you have left.   Even in the Biblical era, Jesus mentioned about earning interests when you deposit at the bank.

Lets take a look at some Bible verses on money and interest: -

Genesis 37:28
Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

Exodus 22:25
If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest.

Leviticus 25:36
Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you.

Deuteronomy 23:19
You shall not charge interest to your brother—interest on money or food or anything that is lent out at interest.

Deuteronomy 23:20
To a foreigner you may charge interest, but to your brother you shall not charge interest, that the LORD your God may bless you in all to which you set your hand in the land which you are entering to possess.

Luke 19:23
Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

Total removal of the monetary system

The Venus Project suggests the total removal of the monetary system including and not limited to all forms of servitude, trade and barter systems.
Sounds like a system that brings you back to the Garden of Eden where clean air, food and crystal clear water are in abundance.
Is it workable? Yes, of course.

It is a system that the society strives to attain maximum production and comfort at the same time through constant innovation and high technology.

In this system, like the 12 Disciples of Jesus Christ, government officials, local municipal officers, Pastors and Church leaders of all levels are redeployed to “waste management” or “abundance spillage management”.

Remember that it is NOT “abundance management” because we are not here to stop a person from getting what they need and want, but redistributing “the bread and fish” that are left over after all the people is fully fed.

The Venus Project concept cannot work in one particular area or country alone because of the vast usage and coverage of the monetary based economy in every country on the planet.

The Venus Project must be agreed upon and launched simultaneously globally with 100% participation of all countries in this world so as to ensure fair distribution of food and water.
For example, if Singapore were to do a pilot test on this Resource Based Economy, it will have a lot of complications and will not be able to launch, mainly because Singapore alone have no natural resources.
Singapore is heavily based on import and export, thus its transaction with the outside world still requires money.

In a small country such as Singapore, we would not see many types of jobs in many other areas like Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and etc.

How do we move from the monetary system to the Resource Based Economy?

The best way is to choose one day to just stop using money altogether.

The parable of the pacifier

When I was two or three years old, I was still sucking on the pacifier (rubber teats).  My mother told me that I am no longer a baby and that I should stop sucking it but I could not stop by myself.  Cousins and acquaintances gave my mother several suggestions including lacing my pacifier with chili powder.  My mother did not want to make me cry in anyway, so she made a deal with me.  When she bought me my last pacifier, she asked me to hold on to it for as long as I can and the moment I dropped it on the floor, she will not buy a new one for me.  So, tried to be very careful and held on to it until one day I dropped it on the floor by accident and I knew that was it, goodbye pacifier.  I did not cry.  I just had to grow out of it.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it looked like you had already dropped your pacifier and mommy is not going to buy you a new one.

The monetary system of paper money and its debits and credits have long failed its purpose to serve mankind.  Since the creation of paper money, as time progresses, more and more severely was mankind made to serve the monetary system instead of money serving mankind with usefulness and purpose.

When we create something, it is suppose to serve us or to make our life easier.

We do not deliberately invent something to make our life more difficult.  Do we?

It would defeat the purpose of invention and innovation, if a person purposely invented something to kill himself and all of mankind; it is called insanity.

These are what the monetary system is doing to humanity today, causing deliberate death and suicide to people all around the world, either by telling a person that he is “worthless” because he just lost all the money entrusted to him for investment on his portfolio, or deliberately creating scarcity so that the price of commodity would go up, meanwhile, people in many regions are dying of hunger.

How can man be measured and judged by the things that he created?

Can the clothes you wear or the soap that you are using while you are bathing tell you that you are not worthy of it?

If you can truly hear things speaking to you, then you are truly insane or is it just advertising commercial on television?

You need to rest and relax; and maybe stop using those things that “speak” to you.

Another ridiculous example of the monetary system is a person paying monthly bank installments for a shop lot that does not exist.  A developer invites the public to buy shop lots before and during construction of a shopping mall and offers discounts to those that buy early.  Some would pay by cash while mostly would take up bank loans to buy the shop space and start paying their monthly loan installments while the shopping center is being built.  Halfway through the construction, the developer went bankrupt and failed to complete the building, leaving the project all together. Those who already took up the bank loans can either declare bankrupt themselves in order to avoid paying up the bank loans or continue paying because the businessman is able to pay and he does not want the complication of being declared a bankrupt.

There should be a transitional period of not more than one month to inform and educate all people BEFORE the monetary system is dropped: -  (any longer than 1 month may cause unnecessary panic and unease among the general public; shorter than one month may not be able to have enough time to gauge and disseminate information to all nations)

1)     gather information of all the earth’s resources and plan to use vacant lands for human consumption crops and greenhouses;  lands owned by governments and corporations should be relinquished for common use while individual privately owned land’s usage are up to the landowner’s decision.

2)     educate people on what to do on and after the day when money is completely dropped from the economy;  (i.e. try your best to do your eating and shopping in normal quantities, until such a time when there are more goods are produced, then each person can order more).  Try to apply the manna collection and consumption method that God taught to Moses – that is collect and take what is needed for the family or what your refrigerator can hold.  Try not to take so much until you cannot finish the food and causing it to rot and thrown away.

Priorities during initial transition period

1)     First area of concern should be placed upon production and distribution of food and locating and creation of water supplies;

2)     Second area of concern are production and distribution of medical care to any emergency areas;

3)     Third area of concern are locating and production of clean energy supply;

4)     When areas of clean energy supply are located, housing and townships then can be planned near and around these power sources.

5)     As immediate concern are food, water and shelter, people who already have houses must be allowed to continue to keep their houses in their name.

6)     Those who do not have a place to stay, the public services sector can help them by allocating any empty houses that are not sold; to clean up and renovate the house for them to stay;

7)     With the elimination of money there is no control over the house or choice land location that a person wants to obtain.  As such, we encourage that a family or each person that already have a house to refrain from obtaining multiple houses everywhere until at such a time when all the peoples of the earth have a roof over their heads, when there are surplus homes built, then each individual person may register to own for more than one house per family.  Why maintain multiple houses in various places that will most likely be kept empty when you can stay at hotels without cost in various places when you travel?  But then again, we are here to provide abundance and not to promote scarcity and restrictions.

On the day after money has stopped circulating and subsequent events: -

1)     Factories, shops, hotels, markets and many types of businesses are encouraged to continue operations as per normal but without the sound of cash registers;

2)     Redistributing EXCESS food to impoverished communities;

3)     If workers, for example farmers or shop keepers who wish to abandon their land or shop and change vocations should inform their local public sector office for redeployment and monitoring of the vacant situations and get volunteers or people from other sectors who are interested in farming or shop keeping to take over the vacant position immediately;

4)     Public electricity, water and sanitation services are to continue;

5)     Public and private transportation will go on;

6)     Imports/exports (or Input and Output) and transportation of goods have to continue as per normal as well as ongoing evaluation on what type of goods are to be imported and exported based on need and requirement instead of demand and supply; if there are more orders for a certain type of goods, then more will be produced.

7)     Banking, stock market, capital ventures, income tax offices, accounting firms, auditors and all forms of monetary based transactions and related services will close down in one day; and its personnel redeployed to other sectors of their choice;

8)     Without the monetary based systems, most of the Advertising and Marketing services will not be required;

9)     All other types of work will be reviewed periodically to be added or removed based on sustainability and whether it is required or necessary for the community.

10) Maids are free to go home to care for their own families. People who employ maids usually because both husband and wife work long hours to find money; but without money, one spouse can rotate to stay at home to look after the children and etc.

11) Stop destructive industries such as production of weapons and any other insignificant or harmful materials.  (Detailed fact list of industries should be presented and discussed over before closure)

12) Immediate action to locate, plan and develop sources of energy that were mentioned such as geo-thermal and wave power generators in order to replace fossil fuel and coal in a progressive manner;

13) Locate, plan and get ready to develop unpopulated areas as the first “circular cities”;

14) After new cities are populated, then very old and crumbling cities can be vacated, demolished and rebuilt;

15) All prisoners should be reviewed and those under petty crimes due to impoverished conditions and political prisoners should be release immediately;

16) All forms of Media reporting should be like the weather report. No hiding of actual facts and figures due to political agendas or presumed assumptions of individuals and everything should be reported as it is.  Reports must be based on direct “verifiable” facts and figures;

17) Patents may be kept only as record purposes if the inventor wants to let the public know who started or made a particular product but it should not stop other people from using or modifying or improving your invention.

18) Education system will be overhauled progressively and periodically;

19) Respect of another person’s property and goods at home; since material goods can be obtained freely at shops and warehouses, decorum and sanctity must be maintained on a person’s private home to prevent strangers from breaking into another person’s house to take whatever goods he wants.

During the transitional period the army can be redeployed to do policing and distribution work as some form of security is still required to ensure public safety and act as information providers where people in general can approach them for help and to assist people with their questions and concerns so as to help ensure a smooth transition.

With the expectation that manual labourers from various sectors may resign from their jobs because of low incentive to continue doing so, the government and the army shall act as temporary volunteers to fill in the gaps of food suppliers and distributors until more volunteers from the public can be registered to help.

No doubt that when the monetary system and scarcity are eliminated, money related crimes will be drastically reduced when goods and services are available to all peoples, but there are many people who are still mentally unstable and other types of crime will probably still exist.  It may take one or two generations or more before some of the mental problems can be eased out of society.

As such, the police force, law enforcers and judges cannot be removed but they can continue to broaden their job scope and education to include more in depth study on human behaviour counseling, guidance and social services.

Providing abundance in food, water and material goods will not stop people from covetousness.  Instead of money, a person can still be obsessed in collecting material goods and nothing can stop a person from obtaining these goods since the earth is full of it.  Merchandise, treasures of gold, silver and precious stones can still make a person think that he is God (Ezekiel 28).  The seed of tares once it grows big and has taken root in a man, will be hard to change for certain people as they are completely convinced by their own ego but with God all things are possible.

Nehemiah 9:20

Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

Nehemiah 9:21

Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

Nehemiah 9:23

Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.

Nehemiah 9:24

So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

Nehemiah 9:25

And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.

Nehemiah 9:26
